Eye Surgery Center of Michigan uses Lensx laser technology for cataract surgery

MDBR Staff Writer Published 14 December 2011

Eye Surgery Center of Michigan has performed bladeless cataract surgery using new Lensx laser technology.

The FDA-approved LenSx laser system utilizes femtosecond technology to perform bladeless Lasik procedures and is proved to be safer, less invasive and also provides increased precision in cataract surgery.

Eye Surgery Center founder Leslie Grosinger said with the launch of LenSx laser system, they now have the ability to customize procedures according to the distinct characteristics of each patient's eyes.

"We can better correct astigmatism, which means an increased likelihood that the patient will see better without glasses following the procedure," Grosinger said.
